First and foremost, I am a long-time member of the Solana Beach community.  My husband, Rob, bought a vacant lot here in the early 1980s, and we moved into our home 20 years ago with our infant son.  Since then, we've added two more children, three dogs and three cats.  Our two boys, Riley and Sean, are now in college and our 15-year-old daughter, Robbie -- a sophomore at Canyon Crest Academy -- lives at home along with our six furry kiddos. In short, I very much understand the current needs and priorities of families with young and school-aged children in the community. Also, based on my friendships and associations throughout our community, I understand and appreciate the perspectives of other residents, including students, young professionals, long-time residents and retirees.

I hold a senior leadership role in a major university Alzheimer’s research institute managing all aspects of operations for multiple clinical trials.  With a long career in medical research, I’ve managed personnel, budgets, and operations for structuring and executing medical research and clinical trials.

As a Commissioner on the Solana Beach View Assessment Commission, I have experience balancing the goals of builders with the concerns of surrounding neighbors, thereby encouraging thoughtful development that fits our community.  As a Commissioner on the Parks & Recreation Commission, I organized events to encourage community spirit and participation.

I served a key, visible role in several Solana Beach Foundation for Learning fundraisers and other activities supporting the children of Solana Beach.  I was a member of the Executive Board of the Solana Beach School District PTA for several years.

You will find me participating in City Council meetings, workshops and ad-hoc committees.  My passion for "neighborhoods first" keeps me engaged in discussions about issues directly impacting residents such as the Del Mar Resort project, Lomas Santa Fe roundabouts proposal, La Colonia Skatepark and various major development projects.

You have likely seen me volunteering at community events.  I have helped with every Tree Lighting Ceremony since 2010 and, with one exception, every Movie Night for the last eight years.  I have become quite the expert at troubleshooting the popcorn machine at Fletcher Cove and passing out treats during the annual Spring Egg Hunt.  I never get tired of the excitement on the children's faces when the Spring Bunny makes its grand entrance at La Colonia Park or the firetrucks and Santa's sled arrive at Fletcher Cove!

My global community perspective and history of activism on behalf of various neighborhoods speaks to my commitment to serve you -- all of you -- in every quadrant of the City.  Having a City Councilmember who listens and is responsive to your concerns is the best form of representation.

I am committed to

WORKING TOGETHER for Solana Beach

 and I appreciate your support!
